Mentaiko Itto's Gay Manga Priapus Finally Released in English Language Anthology

Gay manga fans rejoice! For the first time ever, Mentaiko Itto's Priapus is getting an English language, completely uncensored release thanks to publisher Bruno Gmünder! This 160 page anthology includes Priapus I, II, & III, plus the additional stories Gachinko Battle, 1000 Meters Deep, and 1/4.

One thing I really love about this anthology is the fun surprise waiting on page one. As soon as you crack the cover, there is a big note saying, "This book was published in the original Japanese right-to-left format. Please flip the book over and start from the beginning!"

Another thing I love is getting to hear from Itto himself in the afterword:
Good day. Nice to meet you.
I'm Itto, though abroad I'm probably better known as Mentaiko.
I'd heard that books published abroad often don't require censoring the genitals. But in Japan they do. Sometimes this is just a small revision, and other times they cover up the whole thing. Having to cover up those genitals that I'd worked so hard to draw always made me sad, but knowing everything I drew will now be on full display makes me so very happy.
To think, if you loved my characters, even just a little bit, that'd be so nice...
Bruno Gmünder has been kind enough to share some preview artwork with us. The stories are a great mix of sex and sincerity, sweetness, and lots and lots of erotic fantasy. Itto's artwork is even better than his storytelling. The images seem to spring to life and practically jump off the page. Once you start reading Priapus, you probably aren't going to want to put it down.

Priapus is due out in June. You can pre-order it in the US at Amazon or order a copy directly from Bruno Gmünder.

Five Traditional Fairy Tales Re-Imagined Using Gaymers!

We teamed up with wonderful artist Reed Black to bring you five well known fairy tales re-envisioned using gaymers in place of the traditional princes and princesses. This first batch includes Rapunzel, Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Rumplestiltskin, and Jack & the Beanstalk! Clearly, if Rapunzel lived in modern times, his suitor could climb the tower using nothing more than the cord from a video game controller. And, of course, there's no need for Goldilocks to accidentally startle the three bears where they live when he can just coordinate with them via headset while playing Call of Duty.

A graduate of the prestigious Ringling College of Art & Design, Reed Black has a growing catalog of books, webcomics, magazine covers, and anthologies in his arsenal. Recently, he successfully crowd source funded a children's book called Zombie Boy is Lonely, the premise of which is just because you are a zombie, doesn't mean you can't have friends. Also, he did some illustration work for the book Red Caps: New Fairy Tales for Out of the Ordinary Readers. Reed is also known for his wonderful podcast Drawn This Way in which he loosely interviews other artists. "Loosely" meaning they just talk about anything and everything that comes to mind.

You can learn more about Reed at his Website, Tumblr, or by following him on Twitter! Or, read the interview we did with Reed about a year ago!

Terror Vision Is Bringing VHS Back Starting With "The Mystery in Old Bathbath" by Miss Pussycat & Quintron!

Ok, so this is so awesomely fucked up and wonderful I don't even know where to begin. So, I am just gonna try to explain it in logical order. Terror Vision Records and Video is a venture founded by Ryan Graveface of indie music label Graveface Records. Graveface is known for putting out music from amazing bands like Xiu Xiu, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Haley Bonar, Hospital Ships, Dosh, Whirr, Serengeti, and late, great Jason Molina.

Terror Vision has three goals:
1. Release obscure movie soundtracks on vinyl (horror/sci-fi/oddball)
2. Release films on VHS - both new and classics (horror/sci-fi/oddball)
3. VHS rental shop located within Graveface Records & Curiosities in Savannah, GA

According to a statement on the Terror Vision webpage by Ryan Graveface:
AT SOME POINT IN 2013 IT DAWNED ON ME THAT NONE OF THE CURRENT CROP OF SOUNDTRACK LABELS, ALTHOUGH GREAT, WERE RELEASING ANYTHING THAT WAS NEAR AND DEAR TO MY HEART. SURE I LOVE CREEPSHOW, HALLOWEEN, POLTERGEIST ETC BUT WHERE WAS THE LOVE FOR THE OBSCURE TITLES? THE TITLES I WORSHIPED GROWING UP THAT PEOPLE SO CALLOUSLY REFER TO AS "B MOVIES" OR MOVIES THAT ARE "SO BAD THAT THEY'RE GOOD". THE TITLES THAT VARÈSE SARABANDE HASN'T ALREADY RELEASED ON VINYL 20 YEARS AGO THAT YOU CAN STILL ACTIVELY PURCHASE ON DISCOGS. THE TITLES THAT MADE ME WANT TO MAKE MY OWN HORROR MOVIES AND REALIZE THAT I COULD...ALL I NEED IS A CAMERA, A KILLER IDEA AND THE MOTIVATION TO FINISH ONCE I BEGIN. FINALLY, IN 2014 I JUST SO HAPPENED TO RUN INTO 2 HORROR DIRECTORS (SEPARATELY) THAT I'VE LOOKED UP TO MY ENTIRE LIFE. THIS IDEA CAME UP OUT OF THE BLUE IN BOTH CONVERSATIONS AND WHAT THEY SAID WAS BOTH FASCINATING AND MOTIVATING. IN SHORT, WALKING AWAY FROM THOSE CONVERSATIONS I SIMPLY GOT THE COJONES TO JUST GO AHEAD AND DO IT. THE RELEASES ON TERROR VISION MIGHT NOT BE FOR EVERYONE, BUT THOSE THAT "GET IT" WILL TRULY LOVE IT.
The first VHS release will be "The Mystery in Old Bathbath" by well known husband and wife team Miss Pussycat and Quintron. Release date is May 22nd. Normally they are billed the other way around, but in this release Miss Pussycat's puppets take center stage.

Based out of New Orleans, filmmaker, puppeteer, musician, and all-around creative artist Miss Pussycat has been entertaining audiences for over 15 years with her traveling puppet show and collaborations with experimental electronic musician Quintron. A Quintron and Miss Pussycat show is an unmatched live experience (the duo will be on tour this summer) but Miss Pussycat has also translated some of her shows to film. Three of these, as well as soundtrack album Athropomorphizer will be released over the coming months on Terror Vision Records & Video.

Here's the plot to "The Mystery in Old Bathbath":
Something is wrong with the Happy Tree! For some reason, he can't send out secret messages anymore. Trixie and Marsha set off to an ancient spa town to find a cure before all his branches fall off. But this town is kind of funny and the historic Art Museum of Bathbath seems to have some secrets of it's own. And so does the drummer JJ Suade... Adventure unfolds as Trixie and Marsha try to save the Happy Tree and look at art made by thirsty people.

Confused? I am not so sure this insanely brilliant trailer will help much. But, I highly suggest you watch it. Like now. Like ten times in a row.

By the way, if this isn't enough for you, Terror Vision's first four VHS to Vinyl Soundtrack releases will be:
T.V.001 "Not of this Earth" OST by Chuck Cirino ('88)
T.V.002 "555" OST by Frankie 'Hollywood' Rodriguez ('88)
T.V.003 "From a Whisper to a Scream (The Offspring)" OST by Jim Manzie ('87)
T.V.004 "Killing Spree" OST by Perry Monroe ('87)

Go to their website for more info and updates on official release dates.

Love Your Condom's Sexy "Gear Up" Campaign Uses Hunky Athletes To Promote Safe Sex

New Zealand non-profit Love Your Condom has created a pretty hot video campaign using hunky athletes to help promote self sex. But, they don't stop there. They also give away free condoms and lube, have many instructional videos on how to enjoy anal sex utilizing condoms for both beginners and those a bit more advanced, and they have funny videos where cute guys try to make balloon animals out of condoms or have shirtless condom water balloon fights. It's all really well made and tackles the subject matter with a sense of whimsy often missing in their non-profit counterparts here in the US.

Here's their mission:
Love Your Condom is a community-focused programme designed to create a condom culture across Aotearoa New Zealand. LYC encourages all gay and bi guys to use condoms and lube every time they have sex. Love Your Condom is about moving us past all those lame excuses not to be safe, and inspires us to not just tolerate, but love the sexy confidence that comes with condom covered cocks.

LYC recognises that gay and bisexual men, the people most at risk of HIV, are influenced by their partners, whānau, friends, colleagues, employers and the environment in which they live. While it is essential that LYC reaches and affects all gay and bi guys living in New Zealand, it is also necessary to reach the people who can support, influence and enable gay and bisexual men to use condoms and lube every time they have anal sex.

“We aim to develop a society where it’s socially acceptable to talk to any other New Zealander, but especially those who are most at risk of HIV, about using condoms. Inherent in a condom culture is the attitude that it’s socially unacceptable to ask someone for unsafe sex and anyone who’s asked will have the knowledge and confidence they need to say no” (Nick Laing, General Manager, New Zealand AIDS Foundation).

Gay Themed Animated Short Film "Cruise Patrol" Finally Available Online!

Dutch animator Bobby de Groot and the team at House of Secrets finally made their 2013 gay themed, sci-fi animated short Cruise Patrol available to view online for free! I guess they needed to finish up their 2014 Festival circuit that included more than fifty film fests in twenty two countries.

Cruise Patrol was also nominated for some pretty prestigious awards including Grand Prix of Dutch Animation at the Holland Animation Film Festival, Best International Short at Suspiria Fest, Best Short Animated Film at the Shortcutz Film Festival, and more!

Anyway, since the movie is only seven minutes long, I am not going to give away too much of the plot. The only thing I will say is the first couple of minutes you will wonder where this is going. Stick with it. It takes an unexpected turn into craziness!

World's Grossest Gay Dating App Come-Ons (As Illustrated by Vintage 70's Figurines!)

Everyone who has ever spent more than five minutes on Grindr, Growlr, Scruff, or any other dating app has certainly gotten their fair share of revolting, absurd, and just downright nasty come-ons from potential suitors. We had fun scouring the internet for some of the icky-est. But to help mitigate the disgust, we decided to present them to you a la vintage figurines from the 70s! No more do they say "World's Greatest Dad" or "I Love You This Much." Instead they get right to the point, just like our fine, but inappropriate, online friends looking for a quick hook-up.
