30 Gay Men Respond To The Word "Faggot"
There may be no more divisive, hurtful insult to homosexuals than the word faggot. Rather than go on and on about the origins, current meanings, and pervasive usage of the word among today's youth, filmmakers at Cut.com decided to sit down with 30 gay men and just ask them to free associate how the word faggot makes them feel. After watching these sincere and astonishingly honest responses, I can honestly say that I will never use the term in jest again, even among my closest gay friends.
What are your feelings on the word? We would love to hear from you. And, be sure to follow Cut.com on YouTube and Facebook. They often have provocative and interesting conversations that are well worth your time.

Must Watch: AMIAS (2013) Short Film
Wonderful gay themed short film AMIAS has thankfully been released for public viewing after spending a year and half on the festival circuit. Written and Directed by Italian first time filmmaker John Giordano, AMIAS has been shown at numerous film fests throughout Europe and the US winning Best Short Fiction at the 65th Montecatini Short Film Festival and the Audience Award at the Azores Fringe Festival.
The official synopsis is as follows:
Filmmaker John Giordano is currently in the early stages of his next short film A Deer Died Here and finishing up a Master’s Degree at the prestigious London Film School.
The official synopsis is as follows:
Amias develops two subsequent relationships, one with Nina and the other one with Ariel. Only when his heart breaks twice, he realizes he has to look inside.AMIAS is way more fulfilling than most short films. At just nine minutes long, AMIAS is a quick watch that masterfully manipulates us into feeling like we have been part of a much longer film experience. It is very much worth your time.
Its the journey of a boy from the priviledged point of view of his deepest unconscious.
The story catapults us into a dreamlike dimension somewhere between dream and reality, constantly torn between what is now, what was and what could be, not just for him but for each of us. A universal engaging theme but at the same time so intimate and private that by watching this short film one has the feeling of being elephants in a china shop breaking everything they touch within this delicate balanced triangle. A balance so precarious that it disintegrates in the moment of a race towards themselves, to nowhere, to the truth.
"Amias", he is what he seems to be, helpless and naked in front of us, he leaves the viewer free to get lost in the poetry that erupts in the images, from the composition of the shots to the gestures so simple yet so powerful. He allows thousands of different possibilities in interpreting the scenes.
Filmmaker John Giordano is currently in the early stages of his next short film A Deer Died Here and finishing up a Master’s Degree at the prestigious London Film School.

Book Preview: Full Frontal - The Best of Dylan Rosser
You may know Dylan Rosser best from his wonderful The Male Form website and magazine. A bit reclusive, Dylan recently moved from his home in London to the remote Spanish island city of Ibiza. In 2012, he told The Advocate, "I am quite a solitary person, and even though shooting male nudes does involve working with a model, that is really a very small part of it. Most of the time it is just me, my ideas, and my computer ... creating."
Despite publishing numerous books and traveling the world for photo shoots, Dylan doesn't really talk about himself or his accomplishments. It seems he would rather just let the work speak for itself.
Full Frontal: The Best of Dylan Rosser comes out September 1st. You can order a copy directly from Bruno Gmünder. Or, in the US, you can get it from Amazon. Either way, you can't really go wrong.

Butcher Billy Bullies Banksy: The Coloring Book!
For those unfamiliar, Butcher Billy is a terrific artist/illustrator from Brazil. In the last several years, he has gained quite a bit of attention for his wonderful illustrations re-envisioning punk and new wave musicians as superheroes, characters from The Breakfast Club, and Nintendo mainstays. For example, Morrissey as Superman, Devo as The Flash, Joy Divison as Batman, Sid & Nancy as Mario and Peach, etc... You can view some of those here. They are brilliant. Actually, all of Butcher Billy's work is brilliant.
According to his press materials:
In addition to his illustration work, Billy is a creative director in a digital agency. He lived in the UK for a while, and has traveled widely. With seemingly endless influences at his disposal – including Banksy, Steve Ditko, Shigeru Miyamoto, Malcolm McLaren and Andy Warhol - Butcher Billy never runs out of moods and concepts to explore.
“I like to create freely and then realize bits of an artwork are influenced by the mood of a movie by Tim Burton, the brushstrokes of a piece by Salvador Dali, with a soundtrack from an early album by David Bowie,” he says.
Recently, Butcher Billy turned his eye towards recreating famous Banksy street art using Hanna Barbera and Disney characters. The famous image of the British Bobbies kissing was replaced with Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble. He also collected the work into a hilarious adult friendly coloring book called Butcher Billy Bullies Banksy!
Anyway, take a look at the images below! Then, if you have a few minutes, go check out Butcher Billy's Website, Behance, Tumblr, or one of his stores such as Redbubble, Curioos, or Neatoshop!
