LA Weekly's Ani Ucer somehow got permission to film inmates in the gay wing of the LA Men's Central Jail. And, it's freaking great. To be honest, it starts off a bit silly, but as they get past the impromptu fashion show, the glimpse into the lives of these inmates takes a touching, fascinating turn. For some, the jail has become more of a home and family than they ever had on the outside. It is great that the LA Men's Central Jail has the insight and ability to give these men a separate and safe dormitory. It's even more interesting to see the community that develops and flourishes. Watch this video. It is three minutes very well spent.
