Gay Comic Review: Manson #1 by Enzo

Class Comics has a brilliant new writer/illustrator by the name of Enzo. If the first issue of the digital series Manson is any indicator, Enzo's work is going to be nothing short of spectacular. What really strikes me about Manson #1 is that the art goes for more of a sense of realism and realistic proportions than the bulk of their superhero comics. While I appreciate both, the more sincere, down to earth approach to art and story telling is really refreshing.

Here's the synopsis:
Manson, the tale of a scrappy New York street hustler! It’s tough being ayoung hustler on the busy streets of the Big Apple. New York has it’s share of crazies, and you always have to keep an eye out for the cops. But when you’re young and full of cum like Manson, peddling the goods that God gave you is a great way to make a quick buck.

Of course, as with all Class Comics titles, there is lots of great sex. Manson goes on a pretty eventful romp in this first issue. Wish my life was this action packed! If you want a bit of a more explicit preview, check out the Mason page at Class Comics. At $4.50, this comic is well worth the price.

Monday Morning Dance Party: The Magician Remix of Chromeo's "Come Alive" feat. Toro Y Moi

The Magician is the alias of talented DJ/Producer, Stephen Fasano. One night not so long ago, he appeared from a place between space and time. Apparently he stepped into this world, materializing in a cloud of crystal stars and soft pink smoke. Some claim he’s a former airline pilot who crashed an afterparty – some say it’s all just an illusion, a well performed hoax. Either way, he is a wizard at remixing incredible tracks!

Three Great Indie Electronic Releases To Look For In The Next Month!

2014 has been a pretty great year for music so far, and it's about to get even better! Take a look at the videos for the following three artists with albums coming out in the next month! Must haves for any record collection!

Tomas Barfod Pulsing EP
(Out February 18th on Secretly Canadian) Back in the summer of 2012, Tomas Barfod released his debut solo album, the sophisticated mesh of electronics that is Salton Sea. Lauded by the likes of Pitchfork, Dazed & Confused and Gorilla vs Bear, its success took Barfod slightly by surprise. Inspired by a move to LA and mainly written and recorded on the road, often in hotel rooms on his laptop, it was an album that was imbued with a sense of spontaneity and experimentation. Its success has paved the way for the forthcoming follow-up "Pulsing," a single that continues this spirit of adventurousness but takes it to a whole new level.

Weeknight Post-Everything LP
(Out March 4th on Artificial/Hand Drawn Dracula) Comprised of New York based duo known simply as Holly and Andy, Weeknight create the sort of languid, obfuscous pop that swirls slightly menacingly through your eardrums. The interlocking male-female vocals contain both beauty and enigmatic characteristics, whether it be the bass heavy "Devil" or the glitchy "Dark Light", the crackling guitar lines and other-worldly lyrics elevate Weeknight above many of their synth-led contemporaries.

Color War  It Could Only Be This Way LP
(Out March 4th on Four Horseman)  COLOR WAR is a Brooklyn-based electronic duo. Billy J and vocalist Lindsay Mound originally bonded as visual artists in 2004. A natural creative symmetry forced COLOR WAR into existence in 2009, their first musical endeavor. The band soon began forging songs through hazy improvisational sessions, with J piecing together beats and synth textures and Mound responding as a medium, channeling melodies and lyrical content in real-time. The new record is co-produced and mixed by legendary techno wizard, John Selway.
